“PORTUGUÊS LÍNGUA DE ACOLHIMENTO” ENTERS ITS 3RD EDITION
Admissions start in June
Admissions for the course ” Português Língua de Acolhimento” starts early next June and can be done until the end of July. Agricultural companies interested in enrolling their employees for the 2022/2023 course year should contact Sociedade Recreativa São Teotoniense.
“Português Língua de Acolhimento” is a pioneering and differentiating course – part of the project ” Português para Todos” – and has contributed to a growing improvement in the integration of the migrant community in Odemira, providing a crucial tool such as knowledge of the Portuguese language.
This program is an initiative of the Sociedade Recreativa São Teotoniense, in partnership with Maravilha Farms and Driscoll’s, and aims to empower the workers of agricultural companies, creating the opportunity for them to know the Portuguese language and customs, two facilitating elements for the integration of the migrant population in the community.
Launched in 2019, the project already has almost 1,000 participants, of which about 500 have successfully obtained the conclusion certifications. Obtaining these elementary training diplomas, at levels A1 and A2 (which, along with other criteria, allow access to Portuguese nationality, permanent residence permit, and/or long-term resident status), allowed 180 participants to obtain a residence visa in Portugal.
